How do I defer a task to tomorrow?
Tap the circle indicator on the task and choose Defer. The task is marked with an arrow on today's list and automatically appears on tomorrow's list. Any notes, attachments, and subtasks carry over with it.
Why can't I set a 4th task to high priority?
Vale Notes limits high priority to 3 active tasks at a time — the same constraint as a paper notebook where you circle your top three. Complete, defer, or cancel one of your current high-priority tasks to free a slot for another.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored on your device and synced to your private iCloud account. Vale Notes has no servers and no access to your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I add notes or subtasks to a task?
Tap the task's title (the text, not the circle) to open the task detail sheet. From there you can add notes, attach photos or documents, and break the task into subtasks. Tap the circle to change the task's state without opening the detail view.
Will my data sync to my iPad?
Yes. As long as both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and online, your tasks, notes, and attachments sync automatically.
How do I add the widget to my home screen?
Long-press an empty area of your iPhone home screen to enter jiggle mode, tap the + button in the top corner, search for Vale Notes, and add the widget. The widget shows today's up to 3 high-priority tasks and tapping it opens the app to today's page.
How do I view or plan a different day?
Use the left and right arrows at the top of the app to move between days. You can navigate to past days to review completed tasks or to future days to plan ahead.
